A major recreational development project in western Henderson has achieved a significant construction phase, bringing the community one step closer to a premier athletic and entertainment destination.

West Henderson Fieldhouse

City officials have confirmed that workers successfully completed the steel framework for the upcoming West Henderson Fieldhouse, marking substantial progress toward the facility’s anticipated debut in late 2026. The structure, rising at the intersection of St. Rose and Maryland Parkways, represents one of Henderson’s most ambitious community investment projects in recent years.

What’s Inside the 160,000-Square-Foot Fieldhouse Complex?

The expansive indoor venue promises a diverse array of athletic and recreational options designed to serve athletes of all ages and skill levels. The centerpiece includes versatile court spaces that can accommodate basketball, volleyball, and pickleball competitions, providing flexibility for various sporting events and tournaments.

Indoor soccer and football enthusiasts will benefit from cutting-edge hybrid turf surfaces, which combine the performance characteristics of natural grass with the durability of synthetic materials. This technology allows for year-round play regardless of outdoor weather conditions—a valuable feature in the Las Vegas Valley’s extreme summer heat.

Beyond competitive athletics, planners have incorporated family-friendly entertainment zones that may feature attractions such as bowling lanes, miniature golf courses, and laser tag arenas. These additions position the Fieldhouse as more than just a sports facility, transforming it into a comprehensive recreational hub.

The complex will also house dedicated event spaces suitable for community gatherings, children’s birthday celebrations, and other social functions, making it a versatile venue for Henderson residents.

Public-Private Partnership Funds $70M Development

The project showcases a collaborative financing approach between Henderson city government and KemperSports, a national sports and recreation management company. The total investment reaches approximately $70 million, with KemperSports contributing $10 million toward construction costs.

Henderson is covering the remaining expenses through multiple municipal funding sources, including proceeds from the Public Infrastructure Bond Sale, the West Henderson Development Fund, and the City Municipal Facilities Fund. This diversified funding strategy spreads the financial commitment across different budget mechanisms.

Local residents will receive preferential access through a 20% discount on all programming, activities, and event bookings at the facility—a benefit designed to ensure Henderson taxpayers who helped fund the project can enjoy affordable access.

Construction Timeline and Opening

Breaking ground in May 2025, the development team has maintained steady progress throughout the construction phase. The recent completion of the steel superstructure represents one of the final major construction milestones before interior finishing work begins.

If construction continues on its current timeline, Henderson residents can expect the West Henderson Fieldhouse to open its doors for public use before the end of 2026, adding a substantial new option to the city’s recreational infrastructure.

The facility arrives as Henderson continues experiencing rapid population growth, creating increased demand for athletic facilities, youth sports programming, and family entertainment options in the western portions of the city.

Community Impact and Regional Sports Tourism

Beyond serving local residents, facilities of this scale often attract regional tournaments and sporting events, potentially generating economic activity through visiting teams and spectators who use nearby hotels, restaurants, and retail establishments.

The partnership with KemperSports, which operates sports facilities across the United States, brings professional management expertise to the operation, potentially enhancing the venue’s ability to secure high-profile tournaments and events.

As Henderson continues establishing itself as a destination within the greater Las Vegas metropolitan area, the West Henderson Fieldhouse adds another dimension to the city’s appeal for both residents and visitors seeking indoor recreational opportunities.

The West Henderson Fieldhouse is scheduled to open in late 2026 at St. Rose and Maryland Parkways. For updates on construction progress and facility information, residents can visit the City of Henderson’s official website.
